2017 February Bookhaul

Yups i know, i posted my #FebruaryBookhaul a couple of days. I was thinking not to buy additional books coz i spent more than half-a-thousand-peso buying the first two books. But when i found this additional three books at Booksale where you can buy pre-owned books, i cant help it. I was just planning to buy GREY but upon looking around, i found this two books which are on my wishlist previous years, so i bought it. Lalalalalala…  ❤

#February2017Bookhaul is ❤ 🙂

So yups, that’s all i got for this month!

  1. The Hidden Oracle – Trials of Apollo Book#1 (BRANDNEW) from National Bookstore, Santiago
  2. A Game of Thrones – A Song of Ice and Fire Book#1 (BRANDNEW) from National Bookstore, Cauayan
  3. Grey – Fifty Shades of Grey add-on book (PRE-OWNED) Booksale Santiago
  4. The Escape – Henderson’s Boys Book#1 (PRE-OWNED) Booksale Santiago
  5. Eagle Day – Henderson’s Boys Book#2 (PRE-OWNED) Booksale Santiago

Since Haikyuu Season 2 isn’t complete yet, I’ve decided to find shorter anime series and luckily I have a copy of the ‘Charlotte’ series. And upon watching the first episode I decided to finish it ASAP. And I made it.

SPOILER ALERT*** The story is unique. Adolescent having different abilities that wore-out after adolescent stage, where they got from the comet named as charlotte which passes Earth every 75 year.

The friendship, family-relationship, determination, love, commitment is so intense that made the characters unique compared to each other. And their abilities too is unimaginable.

The twist of revealing mysteries seems fine to me. Death of some characters is really painful. I was lil bit emotionally tortured but the ending lift my spirit and so overall the deaths is worth it.

And since I started to love and get addicted to anime again, I am looking for another series which I’ll be watching with hubby as soon as we finish on CAPETA and YOWAMUSHI PEDAL. Yups, we’re on that bicycle team as of the moment. But its just I who watched this Charlotte. But don’t worry I’ll ask him to watch this too.

So as I end my review, it’s a 5/5 stars for this short-yet-worth-watching anime series. 🙂

Book Title: The Last Olympian (Book#5) | Series Title: Percy Jackson and the Olympians | Author: Rick Riordan| EDITION: Disney Hyperion, Paperback | Status: Owned | Reading Time: May 13 – 18, 2015

It’s a very late post of book review I know, but I must write anyway. Coz this ends my journey on Percy’s world, for the meantime. And this feeling strikes me again. As always, it’s a bittersweet feeling coz at last, I finally found answers for Percy and Annabeth and the whole team. Buts it’s just sad I needed to wait longer time before getting a good time for Heroes of Olympus. 🙂

I wasn’t expecting whom does this ‘Last Olympian’ refers to. And it was she afterall, Hestia. There are lots of things to share about this book. The action scenes are amazing and intense. I can’t even find right words describing how I feel how the team battles Kronos himself. And those deaths of characters, it’s heartbreaking. Indeed it is written amazingly that I felt every emotions.

#1: ANNABETH AND RACHEL. These two brave girls really play a very good role in saving the world from Titans attack. They did their part bravely and intelligently that really helps Percy in surviving the battle. They made him stronger and tougher.

#2: ACHILLES CURSE. I didn’t see it coming. But it’s a good thing for Percy. He was invincible and indestructible and braver and tougher. And what made him do this possible is very sweet. Without her knowing, Annabeth made this possible for Percy.

#3: LUKE. You know I’ve hated him since ‘The Lightning Thief’, but I pity him on this book. His family, his love for Annabeth, this made him weak. But at the end he chose what is right. And it made him a hero. He was just used by Kronos.

#4: LUKE’S BATTLE. Luke’s own battle with Kronos is creepy. Though because he wanted still to be good and reverse what have had done. But unfortunately he didn’t succeed. But he bravely and wholeheartedly choose right path on his last breath.

#5: RACHEL ELIZABETH DARE. I’ll track you down on Heroes of Olympus, I’ll see to it. Well, I wasn’t expecting also how big her role is. It’s a good thing I watched her carefully on her first encounter with Percy. And what she did to save Percy from the school madness is a job well done.

#6: THE OFFER. Being the hero on saving the world and Olympus as well made Zeus grant Percy’s wish to be immortal, if he say so. But he’s not like other hero who wanted that eternity. He wants to experience those glimpse of his life as shown by the Faith.

#7: THE CLAIMING. And let’s expect a bunch of demigods, coz it’s a must now for the Olympians to claim their sons and daughters… Let’s count starting with Jayson on HoO… Thanks Percy for the chance to meet them one by one. 🙂

#8: BOB AND SALLY. I just hope he will be a real good guy for Percy’s mom. For she deserve a normal love story too, am I right?

#9: THE ENDING, ITSELF. The ending of the book is really an interesting one. I wish I could read Heroes of Olympus right now. But it’s a worth waiting for I know, coz I’ll be reliving with the characters soon. I know it will be roller-coaster-ride again, so I’m prepping myself for it.

All-in-all, I can’t write everything on my mind. It’s simply 5/5 rating for this last book. And I know, you’ve wanted too to read it by yourself, so do it now and experience a mind-blowing actions and quests and love and loyalty and commitment… Thanks Mr. CampHalfBlood for the wonderful journey. Thanks Percy for a forever-remembered quests and happenings. It’s a goodbye for now… 🙂

CURRENTLY READING: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Is it just me who get bored on the first pages?

Yeah, after reading Percy Jackson’s The Last Olympian, i grabbed Aveyard’s book and started reading right away. But i felt bored, and i found it difficult to flip on second page on Chapter I. Is it really boring or maybe because i shifted to a new writing skill immediately?

But, on Chapter II to Chapter IV im starting to like it, i guess. But it took me one day to finish the Chapter I coz i felt bored as i say. And now, i hope i can make it till middle to last chapters without gettin bored. Coz on some reviews they were tellin its a great read. And im also lookin forward finishing it before school days begins…

As i read my previous posts, i was reminded that i should be reading the other two books of Harry Potter that are piled on my shelf. And i also am thinking to read Collins first book of Hunger Games. Or should be reading THG Book#1 first before HP 🙂

And I have on my shelf the complete books of The Lord of the Rings, and i don’t know if i would be reading or not yet. But its still on my list, so i’ll include it anyway 🙂

  • The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings Book#1

Book Search Wednesday#02

Yeah, a lil bit late post guys. I was able to browse books yesterday for this entry… And what i got are these:

#4: THE BLACKWELL PAGES by KL Armstrong and MA Marr

I’ve been wanting modern adaptation of Greek Mythology and this series comes out on my search… And its a trilogy, so i guess it would be a good time reading… 🙂

#5: CASTER CHRONICLES by Kamih Garcia and Margaret Stohl

And last night i was watching its movie adaptation of Beautiful Creatures… and i searched it after and i found out that its been on my To-Read list on my Goodreads account… And so it will be another must-have book series, i guess 🙂

Book Search Wednesday#01

fbanner - booksearch

I’ve decided to create my own event now coz I envy those book lovers who have the same… And so since Wednesday is the only day that I think I am not busy enough at work and at home, so it will be the scheduled day for book searching and haunting… And here is the first list:

SERIES TITLE: Divergent (Supplementary Book) | AUTHOR: Veronica Roth | YEAR OF PUBLISHED: 2014

Since I’m still on the Insurgent (Divergent Book#2), I am planning to grab a copy of this. Though it gathers some bad reviews on Goodreads because it came out just after the Allegiant has ended, I still want to read it. I’m still on Four’s spell so I will take the chance to read it though. I hope I can get a copy before finishing the Allegiant so it will be read immediately. 🙂

#2: Fairytales for Wilde Girls

AUTHOR: Allyse Near | YEAR OF PUBLISHED: 2013 | GENRE: Fantasy, Young Adult

I’ll give a shot to add this new author (for me, since I haven’t seen her name before) because the title itself catches my attention. And I’ve been to dystopian world and mythology for so long, so I want a new one. But of course, this book needs to wait for a coupla months I guess… So new book on my TBR list I guess… 🙂

#3: Huntress

AUTHOR: Melinda Lo | YEAR OF PUBLISHED: 2011 | GENRE: Fantasy, Young Adult

I’ve been so in-love with books portrays young lady’s bravery. And this book added magic world and adventures… And so maybe I’m givin this a try on my list too.  And the character is Chinese, lalalala, Asian character girl, so its worth tryin for i guess… 🙂

Here are some of my old stuffs… been keepin these on my shelf for more than a year now and haven’t read yet… sorry 🙂

  1. Strip Tease by Carl Hiassen
  2. The Lottery Winner by Mary Higgins Clark
  3. My Soul To Take by Steven Spruill
  4. In Plain Sight by Carol Otis Hurst

There you go… hope i can read some of those soon. Its not on my priority TBR. But i’ll try to read… 🙂
